This winter recruitment period is typically a period of feverish speculation and possible big-money transfers. A number of notable players are being connected to moves out of their present clubs. Here is a look at some of the major figures that are poised to be on the move in January.

Antoine Semenyo

Despite Ghana's inability to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations, this has kept the player available, reports suggest an important move is imminent. The 25-year-old has a deal with a £65 million buy-out clause applicable for a two-week period at the start of the month. Recent developments indicate the Premier League champions have emerged as his signature. Former interested parties such as Tottenham and Chelsea are said to have turned their attention to alternative options, leaving teams like Manchester United or Liverpool to make a last-minute move.

Marc Guéhi

The England centre-back has continued to impress for Palace this season a summer transfer to Liverpool collapsing. As his contract due to run out in the summer, January is the London club's last opportunity to obtain a transfer fee for their captain. A host of elite clubs, including City and multiple continental powerhouses including Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich, are believed to be interested.
